Planning a trip to Norway and looking for a day that packs in a bit of everything? This Bergen tour promises a mix of history, natural beauty, and incredible scenery, all in one well-organized package. We’ve looked into what travelers say and the details to help you decide if this experience suits your travel style.

Two things we particularly like about this tour are the chance to explore a viking village that feels like stepping back in time and the stunning fjord cruise through Nærøyfjorden, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Plus, the Flåm Railway offers some of the most breathtaking train views in the world.

On the flip side, a possible consideration is the long day—if you’re not a fan of extensive travel or tight schedules, it might be a bit demanding.

Geir was an amazing guide! And the experience itself was exactly what we were looking for: Norway in a nutshell, including a back travel, from Myrdal to Bergen in a common Norwegian train with local people, all with zero efforts from our side, as everything was taken care of! The itinerary is not cheap, but I don't consider it expensive! it is great value for money, especially in Norway you always receive what you pay for! 🇳🇴

It was a great and fun day, blessed with beautiful weather and a clear blue sky. The Viking Village felt more like a tourist consumption experience; to be honest, I was expecting something much more authentic, but had fun with a couple activities, archery and axe throwing. The Nærøyfjord cruise, however, was simply magnificent, clear, calm waters with breathtaking views wherever you looked. Then the magical journey began through the mountains Myrdal, as we ventured deep into a white, snowy, picturesque landscape. Special thanks to our guide, Bjarte, for his exceptional guiding throughout the tour.
Ling

Natalie
A fantastic day of fun excursions. Tom was our guide/driver and he was amazing! Even though it was a long day, it was laid back, lots of fun activities and stops and just amazing views of the areas outside of Bergen. Thank you!

It’s not only a photo-worthy spot but also steeped in legends that add a touch of mystique—definitely a beautiful natural feature and a highlight for many.

Vera
Our driver/guide. Geir, was very friendly and very clear in his explanation. He took good care of the tour members. More importantly, my friend left her belongings in the car when we were dropped off at Viking Village. She only realised it when we on board the vessel. A message was sent to Geir and he immediately confirmed that the items were with him. He then made arrangements to deliver them to our hotel on the following day.
Kit
Our guide Thomas was fantastic & made us laugh the whole way! We had a great time at the various waterfalls, especially Axe throwing & archery in the Viking settlement. We loved the Cruise and the Flåm railway! 10/10
Daryl
The minibus was very comfortable and Geir was an excellent driver and a very informative guide. Adding personal experiences to his commentary gave more insight into the Norwegian way of life. He left us at the Viking Village but gave us very clear instructions for boarding the boat for the fjord cruise and the Flam and Bergen trains. A guided tour of the Viking Village is included in the price. It is optional but well worth joining as you only have a limited time in the village. The boat was a lot bigger than I expected. There was plenty of inside seating but, as it was a fine, sunny day we opted to be outside. There is a large patio area on the top deck so we had great views of the spectacu…

What an amazing day! Undoubtedly the best way to see the beautiful sights we would otherwise have missed. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and ensured the trip ran smoothly and gave us lots of information regarding the final railway journeys, which were unaccompanied. A long but enjoyable day.
Marilyn
It was a great day seeing the country side. The Viking village, cruise and train were perfect. We made a few stops along the way. We saw a beautiful waterfall – the other spots I feel like we passed better places along the drive. The tour guide was very friendly and kind. However I didn’t think he was the best story teller. I would still give it an A.

Tomas, our driver was great! He was good humoured, enthusiastic and informative, made our trip 😀 Viking village was informative with hands on games including axe throwing and archery. The scenery on the cruise was stunning and Flåm is beautiful as were the views from the railway carriage including a spectacular waterfall stop. A long day, but worth it.
Debbie
This was an amazing day from start to finish! So glad we did it. Not cheap but it was worth the money.
Clive
We were lucky with the weather so had clear views of the beautiful scenery. We covered a lot in one day and Stig, our guide, was very informative during the first part on the minibus. The fjord boat trip and Flam railway were the main attractions for me but the Viking village was a lot more interesting than I expected.

However, food isn’t included, so bringing snacks or planning for a meal in Flåm might be a good idea. The tour also doesn’t accommodate wheelchairs, and children under 4 aren’t allowed, so plan accordingly if you're traveling with little ones.
