A full-on but relaxed whole day of programme that takes you to the top local highlights, and also some visits to cultural merchants such as carpet making, clay crafts and a place to sample Turkish Delights (love them!!) – even if you don’t buy anything, the experience is still fun and enriching (e.g. it’s mind blowing to see how Turkish carpets are hand-crafted). My family don’t speak English but they had plenty of time to take photos and enjoy the scenery – the best part is, nothing is rushed. I would highly recommend this tour if you plan to stay in Selcuk (this was also one of the few tours I found that could pick you up from here) for the Ephesus …
Ephesus was impressive. Ruins were quite well preserved and the guide, Vedat, did a good job describing history so we could easily picture an ancient city with grand buildings and busy streets. I also enjoyed a lot visiting Heirloom weaving and jewelry center where we could see how hand made rugs were made, how silk was harvested and see stunning hand-made rugs. Visiting Şirince market allowed us to try a lot of vines for free, and I was impressed with a variety of fruit wines that I had never seen in USA. I would definitely recommend this trip.

Nizam was very funny and informative, two great qualities of a guide. We would have liked a bit more time at Ephesus to really take it all in and wander to other parts, but overall good tour. Lots of other little stops which were fine, but as I said, we would have appreciated more time at the main attraction, Ephesus.

The van picked us up at our hotel in Selcuk at the promised time. The tour group was not too large. I was so happy they did not take us to a buffet lunch place as those places offer mass produced food (we had experienced 2 such buffets elsewhere in Turkey). Instead we had lunch prepared by local women from a cooperative that was very good. I did not enjoy the town of Sirince at all. It was a Saturday and so congested with visitors and all it offered was shopping at bazaar-like stands, one next to the other. Not enjoy…
