Cappadocia Camel Ride Experience: A Unique Way to Explore the Valleys
If you’re dreaming of experiencing Cappadocia beyond hot air balloons and sightseeing tours, a camel ride might just be the quirky adventure you’re looking for. This tour offers a different perspective on the landscape—gliding through valleys and dunes on the back of a camel. It’s a well-reviewed experience, with many travelers rating it highly, especially for its scenic views and friendly guides.
What we really appreciate about this experience is the flexibility it offers—whether you want to catch the sunrise, enjoy the afternoon, or watch the sunset, there’s a time slot for you. Plus, with safety equipment and insurance included, it’s designed to give you peace of mind, even if you’re new to riding camels. On the downside, it’s not a long ride (about an hour), which might leave some craving a more extensive adventure.
This was such a fun experience. It was a small group of 4 of us and was such a great time! The staff were wonderful and very attentive. There were 4 camels and 3 staff member. We went through Pigeon Valley and stopped for beautifully stunning photos and videos at sunset. The landscape was stunning! This was a great experience and would highly recommend. Pick up and drop off was seamless. Thank you for a wonderful birthday experience.
So much fun and unique!! The ride was primarily about the sunset photo. The guide took his time and helped us get fabulous photo memories of riding a camel in magical Cappadocia.
The tour itself was a great experience, the guides were very friendly and accommodating to us. They even took a drone video of the group which was available for purchase after. The ride itself was just long enough to get a little taste of the cappadoccia landscape while enjoying the experience of riding a camel I would have given this 5 stars but took 1 star off because the title of the tour has "sunset" which gave me the impression that it would be at sunset. The tour was at around 4:30pm and the sun was still high in the sky. I get that they can't all be at exactly sunset but it really shouldn't be advertised as sunset if you aren't going to have all groups going at that time.
This tour tends to suit those who are looking for a relaxed, scenic outing that’s different from the usual. If you enjoy small group experiences, personalized attention, and memorable photo opportunities, this could be a perfect fit.
It’s also worth noting that it’s best for travelers with moderate physical fitness, as it involves some walking and riding, and definitely not suitable for pregnant women or those with mobility issues.

Was on vacation with my family. I loved the experience of riding camels, enjoying beautiful views, and making lifelong memories 👌
I must say out of all of our tours in Cappadocia, this was the most disappointing. First, the two days before our tour, Mete, confirmed our booking of the sunrise Camel tour, however, the day before he switched us to a 7:30 am tour. Mind you the sunrise tour was $20 USD more than the other tours and we weren't refunded the $20. Very poor business accument to not reimburse the customer for a change that YOU, the company changed. Secondly, the tour itself was very bland. No explanation of what we would be doing or where we would be going. The tour guide just put us on the camel and starting walking. My wife, was very disappointed in this tour. She expected more from it. I would not recommend…
Pros: It was a small group of 6 people, so we got to chat a bit with the other people in the group. The guide didn't say much about the landscape during the camel ride but offered to take pictures for us at some point. There was a little girl who took some awesome drone videos available for purchase for an extra 15 EUR. Camels were friendly and cute. The view along the way was beautiful. Cons: We were told the driver will pick us up at 3PM, the tour started around 3:30PM, so actually during day time rather than sunset. Although the booking time says the tour starts at 4:30PM, since it started an hour earlier, we ended the tour around 4:50PM. Needless to say it was very hot during the entire…
Some travelers have appreciated the chance to take gorgeous photos, with guides happy to help. One review states, "The guide took his time and helped us get fabulous photo memories of riding a camel in magical Cappadocia."
Photo and Video Options
For an extra $10, you can purchase a DVD and photos of your camel ride. Given how picture-perfect the views are, many find this worthwhile for memories that last. Several reviews mention the guides’ effort in capturing great shots, which can be tricky during a slow ride.

The Benefits of Timing: Sunrise, Daytime, or Sunset

Sunrise Rides
Many travelers opt for the sunrise session, which offers cool air and soft morning light. It’s a peaceful start to your day, and the scenery bathed in early light feels surreal. Several guests praise the early start, saying it’s well worth waking up for.
Daytime Rides
If you prefer a less chilly experience, the daytime ride is available. Expect warmer temperatures and a more lively atmosphere. This option is good if you want to combine it with other midday activities.
Sunset Rides
Sunset rides are particularly popular for their breathtaking views, with the sky turning shades of orange and pink. Several reviews highlight how magical the experience feels when the sun dips below the horizon, making for perfect photos and unforgettable memories.
Price and Value
At $60 per person, this camel ride sits comfortably in the mid-range of Cappadocia experiences. Considering it includes safety gear, guiding, and hotel pickup, the price aligns well with the value of the scenic, peaceful ride. The opportunity to capture beautiful photos and enjoy quieter valleys away from the crowds makes it a worthwhile addition to your trip.
Compared to other excursions like hot air balloon rides or full-day tours, this is a shorter, more relaxed activity. It’s ideal if you want to add a distinctive experience without investing a whole day or a hefty budget.
Overall Value
Travelers consistently mention how friendly and attentive the guides are, which enhances the experience. The small group size means you won’t feel rushed or lost in a crowd, and the scenic views are genuinely worth the price. However, if you’re after a long or more intense adventure, this might feel a bit brief.
What the Reviews Say
Many guests express high satisfaction. One traveler shared, "I loved the experience of riding camels, enjoying beautiful views, and making lifelong memories." This highlights how personal and memorable the ride can be.
Others mention how the guides help with photos, with one saying, "The guide took his time and helped us get fabulous photo memories." This is a big plus, especially for those wanting to create lasting keepsakes.
Of course, not all reviews are perfect. A few travelers noted issues like miscommunication or scheduling mix-ups. One review recounted, "They added us into the wrong ride time, and we ended up in the hot sun." While these are not common, it reminds us to double-check your booking details.
There’s also feedback on the service quality—most guides are friendly, but a few reports of rude drivers suggest that, like any tour, experiences can vary.
Why This Tour Might Be Right for You

Who Should Think Twice

If you’re after a longer, more physically demanding adventure, this ride might leave you wishing for more. Also, if you’re prone to motion sickness or dislike animals, consider your comfort level.
