Thinking about a day trip to Capri but not wanting to spend hours navigating the crowds or the transportation hassles? This small-group boat tour from Sorrento might just fit the bill. It’s designed for those who want to explore the highlights of Capri comfortably, with plenty of chances to swim, snorkel, and see the iconic sights from the water.

What we really like about this experience is its personal touch—the smaller group means more attention from your guide, plus a more relaxed atmosphere. We also appreciate the variety of stops, from grottos to the famous Faraglioni rocks, giving you a well-rounded view of the island.

One thing to keep in mind is that some parts of the tour, like visiting the Blue Grotto, are optional and not included in the upfront price. If getting into the grotto is a must, you’ll need to budget extra time and money. Also, the tour’s success heavily depends on the weather—bad weather can mean cancellations or a rough ride, so flexibility is key.

The Blue Grotto: Optional and Iconic

No trip to Capri is complete without mentioning the Blue Grotto. This cave is famous for its glowing blue waters, a result of sunlight filtering through the water and hitting the cave’s white rocks. Visiting involves a short ride in a small rowing boat, which adds a charming touch to the experience.

However, the ticket costs €18 per person and the stop lasts around 5-30 minutes depending on the queue, which can be a squeeze if the line is long or the weather isn’t cooperating. The reviews mention early entry can sometimes be arranged, which might help avoid crowds.

One reviewer noted that the cave visit was canceled due to a water main break elsewhere, so weather and local conditions are key factors.

For many, the water stops are the highlight. The beverages and chips onboard add to the laid-back, social vibe, while the chance to enjoy Prosecco and beer makes it even better.

This is a group experience. Boat was clean and safe. Diverse experience with people from Germany, Saudi Arabia, USA, and others. Friendly captain and tour guide. We swam 2x. Our tour guide gave us a map and gave us details to travel around the island from the taxi to buses. He also explained different places, like the best place to watch the sunset, grotto, and the Virgin Mary in white cave. I went solo and the captain gladly snapped videos and pics of me. I really appreciated that. We finished the tour with a toast of homemade limoncello with everyone on the boat!
Jocelyn R
They did not communicate about bad weather. Only when we reached out regarding pick up time, then they told us our tour would be cancelled and offered early morning, but it was still bad weather. Really wish they would have offered the next day. It was fine, but also they gave us warm beer haha so they did not seem very prepared. It was an ok experience, but not the sunny day at the island we could have had on the next day if only we would have asked or if they would have offered.
Brett B
Our captain (Mike) and mate (Sharon) were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly… boat was a nice size even for their full capacity we had of 12 people. Got to see all the major attractions of Capri with also time to spend on the island to explore the city.

Boat trip is the best part we found. Capri is nice but over crowded and expensive €4/5 for water at any restaurant. Boat was great fun really relaxed and host and captain were great
Viviana G
Federico and Antonio where great . We had bad weather so the boat ride was rough but we were able to enter the Blue Grotto early. Overall, it was fun
Scott R
One of the first boats to arrive in Capri (6-22-24) only to find out the entire island was shut don due to a water main break in Naples and no running water on the island. Our guide took it in stride and arranged for us to see a few more sights from the water and then a quick unscheduled trip to Positano. No fault of the company, but no one on our trip was prepared for 6 hours on the boat when we were supposed to spend most of the time on Capri.

Considering the small group size and the comprehensive itinerary, most find the cost reasonable. The positive reviews about the guides, stops, and overall vibe suggest that many feel they received good value for their money.
