We’ve come across this particular experience that promises a full day exploring some of the most iconic sites—the ancient city of Ephesus, the House of the Virgin Mary, the Temple of Artemis, and more.
It’s a well-rated option, ideal for those wanting a structured, informative day without the hassle of planning every detail.
I like most of everything. The guide Cemal was great on giving information for all the places . overall it was an amazing tour . Including the driver
Great day out. Ali, the guide was extremely knowledgeable and informative and kept all of us interested throughout the day; he clearly knows his subject very well. The diver was good too and knew his way around the different locations very well. All the sites we visited looked well managed and organised. The short stops at the carpet and ceramic pottery shops were interesting too.
As a family of 3 (2 adults and a nearly 11 year old) we had a great day out with Ali as our guide! He was very knowledgeable and told us all we needed to know about the history of Turkey, Ephesus and Mother Mary’s house. Perfect time of year to do this tour. If you are in Turkey and looking to visit Ephesus, I would recommend highly! Lunch was a buffet at a traditional Turkish restaurant which was lovely and we visited a pottery shop and a leather shop, and although the purpose is obviously to make sales, we didn’t feel pressured to buy and were made to feel very welcome. All in all, we are very glad we chose this tour while on our holiday. Thank you very much.
What really stands out for us is how this tour combines history, culture, and convenience. First, the tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off, which saves you the stress of finding your way around on your own. Second, the guides are praised for their knowledge, making the experience engaging and educational.
That said, one thing to consider is that it involves quite a bit of walking over uneven and cobblestoned surfaces, so comfortable shoes are a must.
This tour is best suited for travelers who want to see the highlights of Ephesus and learn about their significance without dedicating days to it. It’s great for those with a limited schedule or anyone who prefers a guided experience that takes care of logistics. If you’re comfortable walking and eager to hear stories behind these ancient ruins, this could be a good fit.

The Isa Bey Mosque – A Stunning Example of Anatolian Architecture
Your day begins with a visit to the 14th-century Isa Bey Mosque, which is often described as a spectacular piece of architecture. Its intricate stonework and serene setting make it a peaceful start to the day. We loved the way the guide explained its history and significance, making us appreciate the craftsmanship and cultural importance of the building.
Walking Through Ancient Ephesus
The core of the tour is a guided walk through the ancient city of Ephesus. You’ll see highlights like the Celsus Library, Temple of Hadrian, Trajan Fountain, and the Great Theater—where St. Paul is said to have preached. The marble street is a view that transports you back in time, and the guide will fill you in on the stories behind these ruins.
Travelers often mention how guides add a lot to the experience. One reviewer noted, “Ali took the time and energy to explain and illustrate in full detail on the history and the offerings of the heritage in the locations visited.” That kind of detail makes what could be just ruins into a story about the people who lived there and the centuries it has survived.
Lunch and Local Craft Experiences
Midday, you pause for an open buffet lunch at a local restaurant, which adds a nice touch of Turkish flavors to the day. Having a sit-down meal here helps break up the walking and gives you a chance to chat with fellow travelers.
The trip was great and I highly recommend taking it with Ali as a tour guide. He was elastic in terms of our plan so we weren’t wasting time waiting in queues. His storytelling was great and really interesting. Everything was according to the trip description. Lunch was also nice.
Wow this was an excellent day trip. Ali was very knowledgeable and was great with my two kids. Every part was interesting, we all learned so much, my son was so happy seeing parts of books he has been reading in real life with the carvings and statues of some of the gods. Beautiful locations and fascinating learning how everything limited together with historical stories we grew up with. Would highly recommend this tour. It was also excellent value for money especially when you look at the entrance prices in their own for each place.
Excellent value for money with everything included. Ali was an informative and patient guide. His knowledge of the area was excellent and the small divergences for pottery making and carpet weaving were very welcome.
After lunch, the tour veers into some cultural demonstrations—such as visiting a carpet cooperative and seeing how Turkish carpets are made by hand. One guest raved about the bonus tour to a leather factory, rug weaving school, and Turkish ceramics, saying it “was amazing and highly recommended.” These little extras add value, especially if you’re curious about Turkish craftsmanship.

The whole day was a great day. Our guide absolutely knew his stuff and was also entertaining with it. Ephesus is a large site and does get very busy but that doesn’t detract from just how magnificent it must have been originally. It is a very large historical excavation and you do need to watch your footing as you go round but it’s a must go to place if you are in the region. I am not a religious person, but seeing just how important the house of Virgin Mary is to some is very thought provoking. Artemis does not have much to see but I found the history of it and what had been built around it was fascinating. Two other stops were included on our trip, a pottery and a rug making collective…
Fantastic trip, lovely guide! Aydin used his experience to alter the tour due to the weather conditions. He also took us to a great exhibition we didn't know we were going to. Definitely recommend!
Great full day out. Although we booked it for Ephesus we were glad to see the other sites on the tour. This gave us a really great tour of the local area including the art of Turkish rugs and pottery.

Lunch is included in the price, offering a traditional Turkish buffet that provides energy for the afternoon. The additional visits to craft cooperatives enrich the cultural experience, giving you a chance to see artisans at work.
The tour ends in the late afternoon, with hotel drop-off. Note that it’s not suitable for cruise guests, and participants should be prepared for about 1.5 miles of walking over uneven surfaces, with some inclines and steps.

Do not miss this tour!
