If you’re dreaming of adding a touch of Balkan charm to your trip from Split, this Mostar and Kravica Waterfalls tour might just be what you’re looking for. It promises a full day of scenic drives, historical sights, and refreshing dips, all at a reasonable price of around $82 per person.
While we haven’t taken it ourselves, the glowing reviews and detailed itinerary suggest it’s a solid choice for anyone eager to see a different side of the region.
What really catches our eye are the stunning views of Mostar’s Old Bridge—a symbol of Bosnia & Herzegovina—and the beautiful Kravica Waterfalls, which seem to be a highlight for many travelers. Plus, the chance to taste local foods like burek and baklava along the way adds that extra bit of flavor.
This tour is excellent value for money. It is a long day with a very early start from Split, however, we were lucky with the border crossings at both ends of the day and so we were able to get a bit of extra time at the three stops scheduled for the day. Peter was a great guide and is clearly very knowledgable about historical information. Our driver Dale got us to our destinations smoothly and safely, and our tour guide in Mostar, Philip, was also great and had good recommendations about places to eat/things to see in our free time. I would highly recommend this tour to Bosnia & Herzegovina from Split.
We loved it! Ivanka the tour guide was funny, knowledgeable, and made it a great day. She answered all our questions and offered suggestions for future trips as well! Definitely recommend!
Ivanca our guide was fantastic, she was very knowledgeable and considerate. We particularly enjoyed the visit to Mostar, including the informative local guide and the opportunity to try local coffee at Cafe d Alma which was a fantastic experience. Kravica waterfalls were not what we expected, it was nothing like other national parks we have visited, it was chaotic with people, deck chairs, and cafes everywhere. That said it was an experience! We would highly recommend this tour.
The only thing to keep in mind is that this is a long day, and some reviews mention the early start and border crossing wait times.
That said, if you enjoy guided adventures with guides and a chance to explore beyond Croatia’s borders, this trip could be just perfect.
This tour is best suited for travelers who want a comprehensive, well-organized day trip that packs in a lot but doesn’t require planning from your side. It’s ideal if you’re interested in culture, scenery, and history but prefer to leave the logistics to someone else.
If you’re traveling with friends or a group, and enjoy getting local tips and recommendations, this experience might just hit the spot.
Guide Peter was very knowledgeable about the citys as well as advising on restaurants to eat at. Mostar is absolutely beautiful dnt forget to have baklava and coffee and the Kravica falls is definitely the highlight of the trip after the 400m walk down to the fall. Dnt forget ur swimsuit as u need it for a quick swim and then walk back up. Definitely a tour I recommend

Starting Out and Scenic Drive
The tour kicks off early from Split, and honestly, the early start is worth it because it means more time at each stop. The drive takes you through picturesque villages and rolling countryside of Herzegovina—think sweeping landscapes and quaint towns. You’ll probably notice the landscape’s rugged beauty, with rocky hills and lush greenery, a perfect setting for a day on the road.
Mostar: The Heart of the Tour
The main event is clearly Mostar, famous for its Stari Most (Old Bridge). Your local guide will take you on a walking tour that highlights the city’s fascinating mix of Ottoman, Mediterranean, and modern influences. The bridge itself is pretty spectacular—arched, centuries old, and a symbol of reconciliation after the war in the nineties.
You’ll see how it connects two medieval towers, and if you’re lucky, you might spot local kids showing off their daredevil stunts by jumping into the Neretva River.
The timings were perfect for each stop. 2 hours to wander the city for shopping and food .
Fantastic trip to Mostar and Kravica Waterfalls in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Tour guide Mate was fantastic and made the trip very enjoyable with his knowledge of the history and his friendliness. Also tour guide Mostar (Philip) was excellent. Highly recommended trip
Great day to Mostar with a stop along the way where you can try some amazing coffee. Guide Peter was very informative. Great value for money, Mostar was beautiful and you get the chance to see the beautiful bridge before walking over it. Try the baklava and Ćevapi super cheap here and can buy some really beautiful souvenirs. Would for sure recommend
One review mentions how the guide in Mostar, Maria, did an “outstanding job” explaining the city’s history and sights. And many travelers love the opportunity to explore the Ottoman quarter, check out the old bazar, and visit the mosque.
You’ll also have some free time afterward to wander, shop, or try local foods such as baklava or traditional coffee. The coffee culture here is reminiscent of Turkey, with cozy terraces great for relaxing and people-watching.
Kravica Waterfalls: The Nature Retreat
After exploring Mostar, the group heads to Kravica Waterfalls for some well-earned downtime. The waterfalls are often described as breathtaking—lush, cascading, and a perfect backdrop for photos. Many reviews mention the chance to take a quick swim, with some daring souls jumping into the refreshing waters, while others simply soak in the scenery and enjoy the cool mist.
One traveler pointed out that the waterfalls weren’t quite what they expected—chaotic, crowded, and with cafes and deck chairs everywhere. But even with the hustle, the scenery remains stunning and well worth the visit. You’ll want your swimsuit, towel, and camera to make the most of this stop.
What a fantastic experience! Our guide Mate was so professional and attentive to the group's needs. Having an assistant for larger groups could definitely enhance the experience even further.
Our guide Mate and our driver Andjelko were great! Marte was very personable, helpful, and informative with out being "too" much. Would definately book a tour with this team again. Our border crossing back to Croatia was unexpectedly crazy busy, would have seriously taken several hours to get through but the decision was made quickly to divert to a nearby one that was empty. Appreciated that logistical problem solving!
Peter the driver and peter the tour guide were great! And Philip guide in Mostar was knowledgeable, and great! Made the short tour of Mostar exciting as he took us through the main spots while explaining a brief history about them. Overall amazing trip!
Returning to Split
The journey back is just as scenic, with a chance to reflect on the day’s highlights. The entire trip lasts roughly 12 hours, including border crossings where wait times can vary. The transportation is air-conditioned, and the WiFi is a nice touch to pass the time or share your photos.
While most reviews emphasize the smooth logistics and friendly guides, some mention that the early start and long hours can be tiring. It’s a long day, but the included highlights make it worthwhile for many.
Is It Worth the Price?

At around $82, this tour offers a lot—transportation, guided sightseeing, and the flexibility of free time. The reviews consistently praise the guides for their knowledge and friendliness, which can really enhance your experience. Plus, the chance to experience Bosnia & Herzegovina without the hassle of organizing separate transport or guides provides excellent value.
However, keep in mind that there are some additional costs—an entrance fee to Kravica Waterfalls (cash only, about 10 euros) and border crossing fee (5 euros). These add to the overall expense but are common for border-crossing tours. Also, the tour doesn’t include meals, so plan to budget for snacks or a meal in Mostar.
We had an amazing day,Our guide Pero was the best ,he knew a lot about the history of the country ,the stops that we had ,he kept the group very well together a really professional guy.Everything on time the departure and the arrival. I would recommend this trip 100%.
It was really nice excursion. We were transferred to another tour company (if not mistaken the new company name was S Tours) which turned out to be blessing i think so. The tour guide Elena was really nice and explained things about split history, the palace in the city, history of mostar and Yugoslavian rule. It was fun time and she was really cheerful person. The bus was clean and the driver (Dado) was jovial and drove carefully.
I had a nice day going to Bosnia. At the end we went to Kravica which was a nice time in the afternoon to cool down. Everything hosted by the lovely Ivanka, big thanks to her, she is the best! ThankU for the nice day!
