What a perfect day. Victor picked us up right on time and was the most amazing guide. He showed our small group of 8 everything we needed to know to maneuver our kayaks through the water. He spent time with each of us along the way and pointed out so many interesting things. The lunch afterword was delicious, especially the homemade waffles for dessert. So glad we did this. Thank you Victor.
Andreas K
Very nice day, competent guide. We had a lot of fun., good preparation, equipment reasonable, everything worked Fine. A lot of explanations, on the topic and arround.

We had a great time. Victor, our guide, was super friendly, knowledgeable and made the experience really fun. Would highly recommend. Something we wouldn’t have done on our own.

On the flip side, you might want to consider the weather, since Bergen is known for its unpredictable and often rainy climate—though the tour runs rain or shine, so a raincoat could be your best friend.

Iris is amazing – we had a tough windy day but she made it amazing and we toured the islets. I would do this again.

The kayak trip is actually in the North Sea, not the fjords. It was windy and very choppy. Beautiful and the guid Victor, was amazing! He found a bunch of hidden spots out of the wind and told us all about the area. Two of our group couldn’t kayak so they fished. The fish they caught, our guide cooked them and we ate them right from the sea! So delicious! We had an amazing time! Highly recommend!

Pick up was delayed due to a breakdown but our guide communicated with us twice about the delay. We drove 30 mins to the most outward islands to a very remote location. We were given wet gear to put over our street clothes; pants and jacket. All kayaks are doubles. The guide was knowledgeable about seaweed and sea life. We even paddled part of the North Sea which was pretty interesting. We were on the water for about 2.5 hours and then were given a lunch. All in all an enjoyable day

The tour’s inclusion of transportation from central Bergen, lunch featuring locally-sourced ingredients, and small-group sizes really elevates it from a typical outdoor activity to a well-rounded, thoughtfully organized outing. Many reviewers are quick to mention how safe and well-instructed they felt, even if they’d never kayaked before.

Guides like Johan and Iris earn numerous accolades for their friendliness, knowledge, and ability to make everyone feel comfortable.

We had so much fun on this trip. We met the guides in the center of Bergen (easy location by Tourist Center) and then took a 40 minute ride to the location. We kayaked on the North Sea (note that it’s not a fjord). We had a perfect weather day! Our guide, Victor, was personable and fun. We were on the water for 2+ hours. You will get wet but not completely soaked. It was the perfect start to our trip.

This tour was about a 40 minute ride out of Bergen . Our tour guide was amazing – when she realized we were experienced kayakers she took us all around the area which was beautiful and brought us to an area where we got to swim, look at sea creatures – We found starfish and beautiful shells. Our family loved it And our tour guide was great. Please keep in mind. You will get wet so bring a towel or two and possibly a change of clothes.
Kalli H
Our guide was amazing and able to adjust his assistance level to meet the needs of the different individuals in our group. I needed more assistance and planning getting in and out of the Kayak. Others were very independent. He gave just the right amount of guidance for everyone. His tour was fun and interesting. The food was delicious. One of the highlights of our trip to Norway!

During your 2 to 2.5 hours on the water, you’ll paddle among the islets, often surrounded by plentiful birdlife. One reviewer described seeing small crabs and shrimps under the water, and maybe even a salmon jumping alongside your kayak. If you look up, eagles are also likely to catch your eye. The scenery is consistently praised for its beauty—crystal-clear waters, rocky islands, and lush greenery.

Wildlife Encounters and Cultural Stories

Many reviews highlight the wildlife sightings—birds, crabs, salmon jumping, and eagles soaring overhead—that make this trip feel alive and vibrant. Your guide will share stories about local natural history and cultural traditions, adding context that enriches the experience.

As one reviewer said, “the scenery was beautiful and peaceful, and we learned about local traditions and the culture of salmon then and now.” It’s a great way to gain insight into how locals have interacted with these waters over generations.

Food and Comfort

Let’s talk about the included lunch—a big plus for anyone who doesn’t want to worry about packing snacks or meals. The food is described as made from locally-sourced ingredients, with salmon wraps being a favorite. Reviewers love the homemade waffles served back at base, topped with Norwegian toppings like raspberry sauce and sour cream. It’s a tasty, satisfying way to end your paddle.

Lovely experience, weather was nice, the guide was helpful and punctual. The only downside the van AC was not working properly so WS abit warm, otherwise 10/10. Highly recommended.
Kathryn T
The kayak trip was beautiful, great for the soul and well planned. Andreas, our guide is so knowledgeable, competent and engaging. He truly loves the natural world and this showed through to all of us. He also made us a delicious lunch after our adventure that was a Norwegian favorite. We highly recommend this trip! Thank you, Andreas.
Shane S
Great experience! Our guide was crazy and fun! She shared stories of wild sheep (🐑—🙄), we tasted seaweed (surprisingly tasty), saw oysters, starfish and jellyfish and enjoyed our lunch (even the weird cheese on a 🧇) after our workout! Just do it, have fun and get outside! Kristin from Oregon 😂

Many mention that even if the weather isn’t perfect—some tours have gone in rain—guides handle it well, providing enough gear to keep everyone warm and dry. One visitor even said, “we had a fantastic time even in the rain,” which shows the tour’s flexibility and commitment to a good experience.
