If you’re dreaming of seeing Tuscany’s rolling hills from a whole new perspective, a hot air balloon ride might just be your next must-do experience. We haven’t personally floated above Chianti, but from what we’ve gathered, this tour promises a peaceful, breathtaking journey that’s more than just your average sightseeing trip.

It’s an opportunity to take in the sweeping views of vineyards, olive groves, and historic villas while enjoying a slice of Tuscan tranquility.

What we really like about this experience is how it combines adventure with comfort — especially with a well-organized crew that puts safety and enjoyment first. Plus, the inclusion of breakfast and prosecco at the end makes it feel like a true celebration of Tuscany’s beauty.

The entire experience was perfect from start to finish! Not only was the balloon ride incredibly beautiful, but the entire team was super friendly, accommodating and fun. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is considering booking!

This was an amazing experience! I was nervous, because of heights but Roberto was an amazing pilot. He answered any and all questions we had. It was so enjoyable. He saw wild bears running and brought the balloon lower so we could see them. I would recommend this for everyone!

Very good communication about when transfer will pick you up at your accommodations (if that option was selected when booking. That early in the morning, I felt safe knowing the vehicle and name of driver). Experienced balloon pilot made this my highlight of our trip to the Tuscany region.

That said, it’s worth noting that the price of around $312 per person isn’t exactly pocket change, so it’s best suited for travelers looking to splurge a little on a special treat.

One thing to keep in mind is the timing — takeoff is scheduled at sunrise, which means early mornings, but also that you get to start your day with some of the most beautiful views you’ll ever see. Also, this tour has a weight limit of 110 kg (242 lbs), so it’s not ideal for everyone in that regard.

Overall, if you’re after a peaceful, awe-inspiring experience and don’t mind an early start, this balloon ride is a fantastic way to add a memorable chapter to your Tuscany trip.

This experience suits travelers who love scenic, unique adventures and are comfortable with a group setting. It’s great for those celebrating a special occasion or just wanting to tick off a bucket list item in style.

the flight was exciting and the view pretty amazing. People were friendly and knowledgeable. Nice spread of snacks and drinks at the end. Be prepared for a long ride back to the launch site.

We had a great time, it's a perfect chance to view the Tuscan countryside. The ride is peaceful and slow and really fits for everyone. We would like to point out although the listing says it starts at 6am the actual time depends on sunrise and we started it around 7:30am instead so take care for your plans

Pick-up option made the trip to the meet-up point easy, and the entire experience was very pleasant.

Beautiful morning for a balloon ride. Captain was pleasant. The end of the ride was interesting. We landed in a field further away than normal and the gate was locked. Nice breakfast of meats, rolls, croissants and champagne.

I have wanted to go on a hot air balloon since I was 6 years old, and it did not disappoint! We got a little lost on the way there (could see the balloon bit not figure out how to get to it) and they were SO wonderful in helping find and direct us to the right spot. The views were glorious, the staff was incredibly sweet, skilled and personable. Would 14/10 recommend. Thank you for beautiful views and a breathtaking experience!

Amazing experience! We did this for our honeymoon and was absolutely stunning. We had to postpone a day due to weather which was fine and well worth the wait. Communication from Giorgia was excellent letting us know in good time and giving us the option of a refund or to postpone and was quick to answer any of our questions. Overall a breathtaking experience with friendly staff finished off with a lovely breakfast of pastries, cured meats and prossecco in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Would definitely reccomend

The Crew and Safety

Many reviews praise the professionalism of the crew. From Francesco to Robert, the pilots are described as skilled, friendly, and attentive. They take safety seriously, explaining procedures clearly and ensuring everyone feels comfortable. The large basket accommodates up to 30 travelers, offering a sense of camaraderie but also enough space to enjoy the ride without feeling crowded.

After landing, the celebration continues with a glass of prosecco, a toast to the experience, along with typical Tuscan treats like cured meats, sweets, flatbread, water, and fruit juice. Several reviews mention how much they enjoyed this part, feeling that it’s the perfect way to cap off the flight. The breakfast setting is relaxed and friendly, making it a nice social moment or a perfect photo-op.

The Logistics

Takes off at sunrise, which varies depending on the time of year, so early mornings are a must. Most travelers are able to participate, with good weather being a key factor — if the weather doesn’t cooperate, the flight might be canceled with a full refund or rescheduling options. The booking process is straightforward, with most people planning about 52 days in advance.

Transportation to the launch site isn’t included but can be arranged at an additional cost. Keep in mind that participation is limited to most travelers, but those over 110 kg should consider the weight restriction.

So beautiful! Our guide was a total pro and made me feel safe. The views were incredible. Once in a lifetime
Erica S
Amazing views and fun experience. Flight was about 55 mins. Breakfast on landing was good. Only negative is transportation to the site if you dont have a car. They charge an obscene amount for a shared shuttle. Theyre basically making 600+ eur for less than 90 mins round-trip of driving. Also keep in mind that the tour is subject to weather so maybe keep spare time in your schedule if this is a must do. We were offered a day earlier or 3 days later and luckily were able to squeeze this in.
Seymone M
Absolutely breathtaking views! I am terrified of heights but it was well worth it! Roberto was absolutely amazing! After our flight, he called for my taxi back to Florence and waited with me after everyone left until it arrived.

The flight itself was beautiful and the little picnic at the end organised by them was a lovely end to the experience. I would definitely recommend this.
