Exploring the Sea Kayaking Tour in Split

If you’re considering adding a splash of adventure to your time in Split, Croatia, the Sea Kayaking tour offered by Go Adventure might just fit the bill. This experience promises a leisurely paddle along the coast, with plenty of opportunities to swim, snorkel, and enjoy the stunning views from a different vantage point.
We’ve looked into what makes this tour stand out, and honestly, it’s a solid choice for anyone wanting a relaxed, scenic day on the water.
Franie was the best tour guide. Ensured the kids were ok and stopped when they needed a break. Told us all historical things as we Kayaked and was very well spoken. I am definitely booking other tours with this company. They are both professional and priced for families. Thanks!
I would highly recommend this company for this tour. They were super helpful when I asked to switch from morning to afternoon. Then when we turned up on the day, we were the only family on the tour as others had cancelled at the last minute. Although they could have also cancelled the tour under the terms of the contract, they still carried on with the tour with just us. Ivana was our tour leader and she was excellent and incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Croatia and its development. She took photos and videos of us jumping off the rocks and the stop at Tito’s villa was great. She also gave us some recommendations of restaurants in Split. Thank you for such great memories and …
The leaders Mario and the lady with him were excellent guides ! The scenery was beautiful and the history of the area is amazing. I hope to get back again.
What we really like about this tour is how personalized it feels, thanks to the small group size and professional guides who keep an eye on everyone. Plus, the chance to escape the busy city and experience Split’s coastline at your own pace is appealing.
On the flip side, some might find the timing and the waiting periods a little less satisfying, especially if you’re eager for more kayaking or cliff jumping.
Still, it’s ideal for travelers who prefer a gentle, scenic outing that’s suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels.
This tour suits those who are looking for a mix of nature, light activity, and relaxation. It’s family-friendly (minimum age 6), great for travelers wanting an easygoing adventure, and perfect if you love being on the water without the commitment of a full-day trip. If you’re after an authentic way to see Split’s coast without the crowds, this could be just what you need.
Very relaxing experience, good for families. A beautiful 45 min kayak row followed by 90 minutes at the beach, then back. The cliff diving location was closed for maintenance, which was sad. Very chill. Duje and Luka were great. Recommendation though, the beach has many rocks and is difficult to walk on with bare feet. So I strongly recommend that you bring shoes that would enable you to walk on rocks and that are capable of getting wet.
The kayaking part was good as was the guide. Nothing can top a tour on the sea in sunny and hot water. It was a disappointment that there was so much waiting time. Total time in the kayak was 1,5 hours of the four hours tour.
Fun to go kayaking on a hot day and then have a swim. Guide was 15minutes late and made little effort to maintain any oversight of the slower paddlers in the group. Not withstanding, shortcomings, paddling and swimming in the Adriatic was great. Be aware that the number 12 bus(the only way to get to Bene beach), runs much less frequently at weekends

The Itinerary: From Marjan Hill to Bene Beach
The tour kicks off from Marjan Park, Bene Beach, which is a quiet, scenic spot away from Split’s bustling center. From here, you’ll set out on your kayak adventure, paddling around Marjan Hill, one of the most beloved natural areas in Split.
This initial section, which lasts around 2.5 to 3.5 hours, offers a chance to explore the coastline, glide past Kajuni Beach and spot Tito’s villa, a historical highlight along the route.
What makes this part special is the crystal-clear water that’s great for cooling off and enjoying a swim. Several reviews mention how the guides will stop for breaks, giving everyone a chance to relax and take in the surroundings. Nicole_P appreciated how their guide ensured kids were okay and stopped for breaks, making it a family-friendly outing.
The Highlights of the Breaks and Swimming Stops
The main attraction here is the chance to swim in refreshing waters and snorkel around, thanks to the provided gear. Many reviews emphasize how relaxing and fun it is to float in calm waters surrounded by scenic cliffs and lush greenery. Garry_B shared that “the scenery was beautiful and the history of the area is amazing,” reinforcing how the natural environment makes this trip memorable.
This tour was a great way to get out on the water! Our tour guide was great and took pictures for us at several points on the tour. As well as kayaking, we were able to go swimming and cliff jumping which was a blast! We started the tour from a beautiful, quiet beach which we ended up staying at after the tour.
was better than expected, Snorkeling gear provided for free, kayaks very comfortable. The Nature absolutely breathtaking.
The End Point: Bene Beach
After circling back around Marjan Hill, you'll arrive at Bene Beach, a scenic spot great for relaxing post-paddle. The tour ends here, but you're free to linger, explore, or head back to Split at your own pace. You can use a public bus or simply enjoy the beach longer, which many guests appreciate. The flexibility at the end is a bonus, giving you control over your day.
What the Tour Includes and What to Expect

Included in the price are insurance, all necessary equipment (life jackets, paddles, waterproof bags, beach shoes—though you can bring your own), and a professional guide. The small group size—max 10 travelers—means you’ll get more individual attention, which guides like Duje and Luka provide in spades, according to reviews.
What’s not included are food and drinks, so plan to bring a snack or water if you wish. The tour lasts about four hours total, with the kayaking itself taking roughly 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the group and conditions.
Practical Considerations
The minimum age is 6, making it suitable for families, and a moderate level of physical fitness is recommended. The tour is often booked about 40 days in advance, highlighting its popularity. If you're concerned about timing, know that you can switch from morning to afternoon, with helpful staff accommodating last-minute requests.
The Experience from the Reviews

One of the best parts of this tour is the guides’ knowledge and friendliness. Nicole_P praised guide Franie for being attentive, especially to children, and sharing historical insights while paddling. That combination of fun and education is a plus.
Many reviewers also highlight the breathtaking scenery. Garry_B commented, “The scenery was beautiful,” and Frank_W enjoyed the great views from the kayak. These natural sights are why many travelers choose this kind of activity over a more traditional sightseeing tour.
Others appreciated the relaxing pace. Christopher_S noted it was “very relaxing,” while still getting some adventure in with swimming and cliff diving (though the cliff jump was closed during his trip). The balance of activity and downtime makes it appealing for those wanting a gentle, scenic escape.
The Downsides: Noticing the Small Flaws
Some reviews mention waiting times and the late start of guides, but overall, these seem minor compared to the positive experience. Lotta_S felt that “the kayaking part was good, but there was a lot of waiting,” which could be a consideration if you’re eager to maximize your time on the water.
A few travelers also pointed out that cliff diving was unavailable during their trip due to maintenance, so don’t count on this if that’s a must-do for you.
Cost and Value: Is It Worth It?

At $53.95 per person, the tour offers a good bang for your buck considering the professional guidance, all equipment, and the scenic experience. For a half-day adventure on the water, it’s quite reasonable, especially as it includes insurance and personalized attention.
Travelers who value small-group tours and a relaxed pace will find this worth the price. Plus, the flexibility at the end allows for spontaneous relaxation or exploration—adding to its value.
Who Should Book This Tour?

If you enjoy being outdoors, want a gentle activity that combines exercise with sightseeing, and appreciate small-group experiences, this kayaking tour is a solid choice. It’s especially suited for families with kids over 6, couples looking for a peaceful escape, or solo travelers wanting a low-key adventure.
Those expecting nonstop kayaking or intense activity might find it a bit slow or limited, but for most, it’s a perfect mix of nature, light exercise, and scenic beauty. It’s also great if you want a more personal experience with guides who are attentive and knowledgeable.
