5.0(343 reviews)From $24.20 per person

If you’re exploring Faro or the surrounding Algarve region and want to get a taste of local traditions alongside some good wine, the Tour & Wine Tasting at Quinta da Tôr might just be worth considering. This experience doesn’t promise a fancy, high-pressure tasting — instead, it offers a laid-back, friendly environment where you can enjoy quality wines and impressive views.

What we love about this tour is how it combines family-run warmth with authentic regional flavors. The relaxed setting means you can unwind, chat with knowledgeable hosts, and sample wines while taking in the scenic beauty of the Algarve mountains. Plus, the price point—around $22.59—is quite reasonable for the quality of experience and the amount of tasting included.

One thing to keep in mind is that this isn’t a vineyard visit with extensive tours of the vineyards themselves. Instead, it’s more of a tasting session with some background stories, which might feel a bit too short or commercial for those hoping for a deep dive into wine-making. Still, if you’re looking for a genuine, friendly introduction to Algarve wines, this tour hits the mark.

Beautiful location with delicious wine, lovely views and a pool to cool you off. We spent the afternoon enjoying wine, the reds especially, tapas and swimming. The tour of the winery was informative and we learned new facts. The kids were treated to homemade pastries, ice cream and juice which made the experience special for them.
Anita B
Half an hour description of wine making process with no visit to vineyards. Rest of time was spent tasting with very little info on wines. A little too commercial for me.
Helen B
A lovely way to spend an afternoon. The tour was short, informative and our host was funny! The wine tasting was nice and they allowed me to change the glasses round, I am not overly keen on red so managed to swap a red for another glass of white! The snacks were good, wish there had been some balsamic vinegar with bread too. We purchased some additional snacks and these were really reasonable and tasty. The pool looked lovely, we didn’t use it, too cold!!! Would recommend

The Tour Itself

The tour lasts about 1 hour 30 minutes, which is just enough time to get familiar with the family tradition behind the wines and to sample a selection of four different wines—typically two whites, one rosé, and one red, according to reviews. The informative yet casual approach means you get a bit of insight into the wines without feeling overwhelmed.

The Tasting Experience

Guests frequently mention the generous pours—the tastings are more like small glasses rather than sips—making it good value. Reviewers praise the quality of the wines; many say they bought bottles to take home because they enjoyed the flavors so much. The ability to swap glasses, especially if you’re not a red wine fan, is a thoughtful touch appreciated by visitors.

Snacks and Extras

While the snack offering includes bread and olive oil, some reviewers wished there had been additional accompaniments like balsamic vinegar. Still, the snacks are described as good enough to complement the wines. Many guests also mention the option to buy local olive oil and cheese, which adds to the overall value.

Pool and Amenities

The infinity pool is often highlighted as a highlight, especially during the summer months, providing a swim after the tasting or just a relaxing spot to soak in the views. Some reviews note they visited twice — once for the tasting and again for the pool and tapas, which seems to be a recurring favorite.

Amazing tour. Very good value. The tastings are basically a small wine size in the UK! We had 2 whites a rose and a red but the standard is 2 red one rose and one white. The bread and olive oil is amazing and we would have bought some if our case allowed! The food if you wanted to buy some is very reasonable. We got a meat and cheese board, olives, extra olive oil and a bottle of wine for €25! Bargain. If you wanted to buy a bottle of wine, prices start from €8. Also a barge. Tip. If you're nee to the app 'Bolt', download it and at the moment they are doing a promotion for your first 3 rides free. It therefore cost us €8 per ride. €16 there and back from Faro. Very convenient and we…
